The tranquil area of Downhorn Park consists of two connected fields with a combined area of about 0.81 ha, (2 acres) lying between Dean Hill and Horn Lane in the centre of Plymstock.fields that in the centre of Plymstock. You will find them to the the rear of the Community and Age Concern centres at the top of the Broadway shoppers’ car park. Local residents use the fields for recreation and enjoyment of nature, but many people are unaware of this lovely green open space.

The overall aims of the Friends of Downhorn Park are to promote protection and conservation of this public Neighbourhood Green Space and to enhance the benefits of its use by the community.. We aim to:

  • enhance accessibility and use by the community
  • provide benefits for health and well-being
  • develop community action to enrich the area’s biodiversity and ecological sustainability to address continued habitat loss and the climate emergency.

We invite you to find out more about the park and help us to enhance its environmental benefits and biodiversity and to realise its potential for promoting health and well being.
